Dinana.

My name is Diana, I walked through the doors of RCCS in April, 2015. I was broken and lost and all I knew was that I wanted something more for my life. After 28 years of Meth use, as well as numerous arrests and many attempts at recovery, I knew that there had to be something more - I had it once and I wanted it back. I had over 7 years clean and sober, but after my husband passed away in 2009, I went on a 5-year spiral of addiction and crime that brought me to new lows. While sitting in a jail cell and looking at 10 years, I realized that I had better get help. I came back to RCCS because I knew it was the only place that would work for me. I had a few bumps in the road through my treatment process, but I didn't look back. I knew what I needed to do, and I did it.
When I graduated the program in October, 2015, our Alumni was very small, and there were usually three to four of us that would meet up every other week and talk about what was going on in our lives. I continued to stay connected as our alumni continued to grow. I am so blessed to be a part of a family in recovery. I consider them all my brothers and sisters and we are truly "ALUMNI STRONG." Now our alumni group meets every week rotating between the Minneapolis and the St. Paul locations. We work together at doing what we can to give back to the program that gave us a new chance at life, as well as utilize the aftercare resources that RCCS has. I am so PROUD of the title – RCCS ALUMNI.

Corey

My name is Corey. I attended RCCS on November, 7th 2017, following a 28-day program at another treatment center. Since I can compare treatment centers, and my own self-assessment regarding my progress, I have to say RCCS was a blessing in my life due to the caring counselors and founder. From my overall experience, as well as other experiences from my peers, I learned the approach that RCCS takes on a clinical, physical and emotional level is one of a kind. The MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy) program is unlike any other 12 step-based programs. I have developed and sharpened skills for my life. When I joined the program, I had five counties to make amends to. I graduated the RCCS program on June 6th, 2018. I experienced the “Jump for Recovery” with my peers, which was another unique and life altering experience. I put myself in many dangerous situations in my addiction, without faith…. When I jumped out of a plane during “Jump for Recovery,” and watched my peers experience it as well, I will forever remember that day and how that helped all of our recovery journeys.

I truly appreciated and benefited from the individual attention and programming that I received, while also witnessing others in the program that were being honest and working on their own success plans. Although the majority of the clients that start the program do not earn the graduation seat or Alumni status, the people that do are truly fitted for success. I personally have 14 months of recovery - and not just sobriety. I mention that because I feel there is a difference between sobriety and recovery.

I, as well as the other brothers and sisters of RCCS alumni, are living testimonies of how a solution-based program built on a foundation of getting "what is rightfully ours,” will always prevail. RCCS and the committed staff will forever have a piece of my heart because they all helped me get my life back on track. The program truly speaks for itself.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the entire staff for leading the way into freedom and victory!

Lawrence

I was in 28 years of active addiction! February 25th, 2015 was the day I surrendered and asked for help from my probation officer. Upon asking for help, I had to sit for a while to get that help. Then the day came when I got the call from RCCS in June of 2015.

Coming to RCCS changed my life. They provided the information I needed to make the right choices, for the right reasons. Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) spoke to me – it spoke to my spirit. It brought out the light that I had kept covered for so many years. MRT helped me to connect with my Native American culture.

Today, I am a graduate of the program as of January 2016. I have been employed with RCCS now since 2016 and continue to be an active member of the RCCS Alumni Group.

Surrendering and embracing my spirituality has brought so many blessings into my life.
